It’s only April 20, but it feels like an early summer day when those sweet memories of sun and fun at the beach come back to me from more carefree times. Back in the 1960s, we never thought that summers of unimaginable heat would await us in a few decades because rhe planet is quickly warming.
I remember those "good ol' days" too. The family would head to Myrtle beach or Folly beach for the weekend and I'd spend all day playing in the sun and surf. It was great fun. At the end of the day my skin would be red and burnt. I now pay the price for all that sun exposure. Every year after visiting the dermatologist I have to have a bcc or two removed. I'm glad we are more aware today of the dangers posed by too much sun exposure and I still cherish those wonderful days spent at the beach.
