I very much enjoyed your post. I am surprised, however, that you resisted the modern technology until 1996. Is this a sign of trying to keep your world the pretty much the same for as long as possible? You have many strengths but, as I am sure you long ago discovered, such efforts are bound to be unsuccessful.
Change and even traumatic change has been such a constant in my life that I never could want my little world to stay the same because change is what allowed me to keep going to become a new person, so to soeak. My first exposure to technology was using very early Mac computers in 1990-91 to type and set all my copy for newspaper stories. When the internet came along in 1995, I jumped at the chance to be part of such revolutionary change. There’s been no looking back in that regard, although I still live too much in the past.
